The world famous island of Santorini is the most southern island of the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. It is located 120 nautical miles south of Piraeus (the harbor of Athens) and 63 nautical miles north of Crete.

The conference was held at the Petros M.Nomikos Conference Center located in the capital of Santorini, Thira, overlooking the caldera and the volcano. It is a neoclassical mansion and has been transformed into a modern, operational Conference Center.
